I don’t share everything…

Sometimes clients request that their children’s images not be shared on social media and I respect that. Not everything needs to be shared even though it’s so tempting to do so with the ease of use of cell phone cameras and social sharing networks. I’ve made a decision to share a lot of my personal life and images on social networks because it’s an easy way for me to keep in touch with my friends and clients. I don’t really have a lot to hide and those who know me know that I’m happy to share my experiences – I prefer to be honest in how I live my life and what you see is pretty much what you get 🙂

Now as for Big Boy, I don’t share as much of him unless it’s a cute picture that I know he probably won’t be embarrassed by when he’s older. As a new parent I started out sharing lots and lots of him as a baby because I just couldn’t get over how adorable he was. But as he grows I’ve been starting to think and worry that he may not be so happy with me sharing images and information about him all over the internet. So I’ve been limiting what I share of him, not because of a fear for child predators but for fear that his older self will resent me!!!! When he gets to a certain age (10?), I’m hoping we can discuss which images of him are okay to share on my sites and which we should keep just to family and friends.

When it comes to myself, you can ask me anything. In fact, let me share 5 things about me that you maybe don’t know unless you’re in my very close circle of friends…

1. I bite my nails and cuticles when I’m nervous.

2. I don’t wash my hair every day – usually only once, maybe twice a week (but I DO shower often!).

3. I’m lactose intolerant.

4. I’m often cold but I occasionally get hot flashes (i.e. uncontrollable sweating)…clearly my hormones are kind of imbalanced.

5. I’m an introvert at heart.

Here’s a recent session where I can’t share the children’s images. However, I still want to show you this beautiful cake that Yvonne from Make It Sweet created for it. I had this vision of pastel confetti and balloons that I wanted for the set. She didn’t see the set before she created the cake and I was SO IMPRESSED at how she managed to match the theme so accurately based solely on our conversations – her edible confetti on the cupcake matched my tissue confetti and balloons PERFECTLY. It was all too pretty not to share 🙂
