When Elaine Fields asked me to help her create some new images for website, I hesitated for a moment. I had photographed her family last fall for their holiday cards and knew that she’d be great in front of the camera, but I’m so used to focusing on kids and babies that I was worried I wouldn’t know where to start!
And then I came to my senses (pretty quickly, hahaha). Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE fashion! On my Instagram account alone I must follow AT LEAST 500 (or more) fashion and lifestyle bloggers So yeah, after sitting on the email for a day, I told her I’d do it! Wahoo!
After a few back-and-forths with scheduling and other details, the day of the shoot finally arrived and it was freezing cold (or course, this is Toronto after all). Despite the weather, we had a ton of fun and she didn’t let the cold show in any of her images. We shot a couple of outfits around the town, some including her son JJ, and then did a few in her Toronto home that she could use as headshots/stock images for her site. It was all very, very fabulous! Her husband, an ex-NBA player, even managed to sneak into a photo 🙂
I’m so thankful for this awesome experience and am glad that I pushed myself to do something a bit different. I learned a lot and find that I’m applying several of the things I learned from this shoot to my family and baby sessions! She’s an incredible woman, mother, and wife and I look forward to much more awesomeness to come from her!
P.S. I’ve noticed that many people often ask her what her makeup and skincare products are because her skin always looks so amazing in photographs. I can tell you first-hand that her skin actually looks like this in real life and it’s definitely not from makeup – she’s just blessed with incredible flawless skin 🙂
